BF SERIES   (Photovoltaic/Battery Powered)

The BF Series cathodic protection power supplies are built specifically to be powered by solar panels and battery.

 

This allows you to get two big advantages:

the possibility to install them in areas not served by public power lines, and the possibility to get good savings on operating costs.

 

BF solar power supply is designed and built to minimize the number of additional components required to build the impressed current plant:

in addition to the power supply, you will need only the solar panels and batteries, which, if required, may be included in the delivery set; the charge controller is already on board.

It has a very high reliability resisting to the heavy stress of its hard environment operating conditions and a very precise adjustment, with a low output noise.

 

Thanks to the switch mode technique and microprocessor management, these solar power supplies are able to provide up to 50V (also with a 12V battery).

They can implement all the features needed in a modern cathodic protection system:

 

high-performances, remote management, data logger, current interrupter for ON / OFF cycle tests, GSM interface, MODBUS standard communication protocol via RS485 serial port.

Main Features

 

  • Solar panel powered, battery-backed; it can provide up to 48V (also with a 12V battery) and up to 8A.

  • Battery charge regulator embedded, with final charge voltage accorded to the battery temperature (optional) and testing of the power supplied by the solar panel.

  • Very low consumption (1W) and a high power conversion efficiency.

  • Very high reliability resisting to the heavy stress of its hard environment operating conditions and a very precise adjustment, with a low output noise.

  • Lightweight and compact (only 5 Kg), so very easy to transport during installation and repairing operations.

  • The output is galvanically isolated from the battery, to allow the sharing of the battery with other devices connected to the ground.

  • OVERVOLTAGE PROTECTIONS MODULE replaceable on field, endowed with High Power Varistors.

  • Easy and intuitive dialog with the user.

  • 4 digits digital displays (can display measurements in mA).

  • Alarms and statistical parameters management.

  • Available options: Data Logger (about 2 million samples), Current Interrupters for ON/OFF cycle tests.

  • Remote management module via RS485/MODBUS or GPRS (optional).
